Day Two

So today was orientation time for the CIS abroad internship program I'm doing here for 8 weeks. Lisa our coordinator did a really great job of getting us ready for everything and was really big on safety! our little area of Smithfield is not so nice after like 10:30pm to be alone in so yay buddy system! BOO pick pockets!

We also get phones as part of our costs here from the program. So we got old school phones with T9!

So Lisa had to buy like 13 of this and felt like she was getting eyed by the staff for being a drug dealer so now all I can think of is that this is a drug dealer phone. Its super light but the phone plans here are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO cheap even the pay as you go is super easy and inexpensive.

So today was fun we did a Viking tour...

Our bus was a refitted WWII vehicle that was land and sea capable! It was pretty cool and way better than the double decker tours. I think tho that for just vacation I'd do that hop on hop off bus as they cost pretty similar and the hop on hop off is good for two days. We did get to wear neat hats...

This tour is super fun as you ARGGGGG at tons of people and the irish people see the big yellow bus and will ARG at you! We even had this well dressed business suit guy do it at us!

Then it was off to find our internships and do any shopping we needed. That was an adventure they have ALDI here but in my journey to find it I got lost and ended up going to the more expensive closer Fresh and that was not soooooooo bad price wise. NO streets seemed to be marked its all knowing landmarks. I am extremely lucky to work near someone so I can walk with her and she is good with directions something that I am not!

Well its like a tad after 11pm here and I want to be rested for my internship. I was lame tonight and did not go out to watch the World Cup game at a pub with some of the other interns.

Till Tomorrow, when I will hopefully know what I will be doing for the next 8 weeks!

Cheers!

  1. Told you about the streets thing...Its like 50/50 on the label. Brings a new perspective to streets with no name...
