First Day of Internship

So made it early to my internship. I was so lucky to be close to another intern who had already spent some time learning the city so it was not stressful at all to get there.Jessie is awesome and its so nice to have someone to walk with everyday. Its in St. Stephens Green Shopping center in a really neat building. Its a small gallery but to my disappointment more like a shop. They sell artwork and have a lot of really neat stuff. The day to day sales seem to be custom framing and prints. I was a little disappointed that it seems to be more of a shop and I really wanted more of a museum feel or a real art dealer experience. I mean I can sell it as an art dealer cause thats really want the store is about. Most of the art is expensive like 300 to 4500 up to 14000 euro.

Today was pretty easy but the worst part was the standing. I know its really american to complain but, I walk about 30ish min to my internship and then a good part of the day is spent standing. My feet ended up getting really cut up in the flats I was wearing. I packed all the wrong shoes! I miss my fake tevas!

So after a day of pretty much doing nothing. I got assigned a project to mostly make labels for all the work uniform and create a business that could be ordered online. The picture above is of the gallery its down a hallway of what us americans would call a mall. My boss did say that I might get to meet some of the artists so thats good. I like working with artists. However on thee whole the business could be better organized. I am just happy to be in Ireland and get to have the experience tho.

A slow walk home with hurty feet led to a quick dinner. Im not as hungry here even tho I am walking and doing more than in the states. Also I have given up soda! I also went out and helped my roommate do a quick shop at centra.

The end of the night was great! A bunch of us went out to get a drink in the Temple Bar area but ended up in the actual Temple Bar pub. I got a Blumers, its a hard cider and was very good. we left pretty late and the pubs were packed but that area is very touristy so not unexpected. However, I know I'm gonna pay for it tomorrow.

Gonna have to post this tomorrow!
