First Day in Ireland!

Okay so the honey badger could not make it this trip as he was traded for valuable towel space. My journey began in Houston Tx at Bush International Airport. It was an easy flight to IAD (DC) and a bumpy but okay flight to Manchester in the UK.....

However it is in the UK that my trip takes a sour note...Had 1 hour to make a connection to an air lingus flight to Dublin no big right? WRONG!

I got detained by customs!  I was told by a very irritated border lady that I could not possibly do an internship unpaid that was not under my university or a university in the UK or Dublin... I had paperwork and had checked and I know it must have been misunderstanding in some way. However 30 min go by and then without a bag check or pat down her manager says I am free to go on my connecting flight to Dublin.... I am the last on board but 21 other people from my same connecting united flight don't make it.... And then to get into Dublin they don't even ask to seem my paperwork at all!!!

So three flights later I make it sweaty and gross to Dublin meet my person and on to my apartment!  Where a very nice italian boy student has partied to hard watching the world cup and is not ready to leave yet... So more waiting and grossness and then no joy.... Lucky for me two other nice boys let me keep my stuff in there room while we walk around a bit and then let me change clothes in their room. So slightly less nasty from three flights we go to eat lunch and to the Jameson Distillery....

This is at the end of the tour and after we had our free drink!

Very awesome! The mixed drink with ginger and lime was awesome!

Then back to apartment where room is finally ready but no bedding! So shower time thank god for my little travel stuffs! And my towel cause running out to buy one was so not happening...

Much happier after clean and then bedding delivered and bed made then time for dinner at The Arlington Hotel bar and some Irish dancing. The dancing was fun to watch and 4 of the interns got up to help in a demo! The music before hand was great!

Fish and chips eaten and dancing watched and whiskey tasted it was time for bed! More orientation tomorrow AND shopping for stuffs! Hopefully with more pictures!
